Collin College Counselors aim to support our students' success by offering counseling
services to help maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. Students seek counseling
for a variety of reasons, which include but aren't limited to: depression, anxiety,
relationship issues, trauma, general wellness, domestic violence/abuse, academic concerns,
alcohol/drug addiction, gender identity, eating/body image, stress, etc.
All issues are taken seriously, and no problem is "too small" to discuss.
Counseling Services is designed to meet the needs of Collin College students with compassion, honesty and confidentiality.
Once you begin classes at Collin College, you are eligible for counseling services.
We look forward to working with you.
Counseling Services also offers virtual seminars on a variety of wellness topics throughout
the semester.

Mental Health Screenings
Get a CHECK-UP from the NECK UP!
Counseling Services offers free mental health screenings through Mindwise.org. Click here to get started!
Screenings offered are Depression, Alcohol misuse, Generalized Anxiety, PTSD, Disordered Eating, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, Substance Use, Gambling, Opioid screening and Well Being screening. Taking a mental health screening is a quick way to determine if you or someone you care about may need to reach out to a doctor or mental health professional for an evaluation. They are educational, not diagnostic. Check out our video in the Counseling Video Library below to learn more about how to use the tool!
We value and celebrate diversity of our students. We stand with students who may identify
with marginalized identities including but not limited to LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and students
with disabilities. We also recognize systems of power, privilege, and oppression impact
our students’ lives, mental health, and academic success. We strive to provide a space
where students can share and process these experiences and encourage students to bring
all their identities into the therapeutic space.
Students needing accommodations for counseling sessions or seminars can request through
the ACCESS office by emailing access@d809.com or calling (972) 881 5898.
Collin College Counseling Services does not provide court ordered evaluations, mental
health evaluations for disability, anger management or other rehabilitative counseling
for probation or parole and cannot serve as a counselor of record for divorce or custody
mediation.
